Solutions For Our City's Trash
I believe the city missed an opportunity when they signed a contract with a new trash service. Bulk trash (not vegetation) is normally considered a special pick up request paid for by the homeowner in most cities. It makes no sense that the majority of homeowners who never require this service should share the cost. I will look at options to improve the current service and lower the cost to homeowners.

Traffic Concerns In Our City
As the current owner of a local transportation service, I see the traffic problems on a daily basis. I want to keep traffic moving, decrease commute times, frustrations and road rage. Changing many traffic lights to flash yellow or red, regularly or at off hours, would cut down on excessive wait times at intersections and cross streets. I know many people are concerned about speeding in their neighborhoods. There are proven alternatives to speed bumps and calming areas that don’t damage vehicles. As our population and traffic continues to grow, it will be necessary to assess speed limits throughout the city.

Public Safety Measures
Our population is growing quickly. With that comes an increase in crime. I will always support first responders and law enforcement. I will ensure they have the funding they need for equipment, proper training and growth. I will advocate for more sidewalks and residential street lighting to keep our residents and children safe.

Economic Growth
Our city is growing exponentially. While growth is good, it also comes with growing pains. Big business is welcome in Port St Lucie, but I won’t forget about our small business owners and entrepreneurs. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and community. Many strip malls and other structures are currently empty, likely due to the high cost of rent. I will support tax breaks, financial assistance and other aids and incentive to help offset this cost for startups and small business owners.

Environment
Open spaces that preserve our natural resources and protect our wildlife are vital to our environment and community. I will not support any new construction or legislation that may jeopardize our environment or wildlife
